Various pictures regarding lights in my EDOT

First is the inside back of my EDOT. The yellow blob is my multimeter, measuring the voltages at the connector to the light assembly in the picture. At this point, the meter is reading 130VAC.

Next is the same thing again, from a different perspective. This shows the starters etc. I don't know much at all about fluoros etc, so I don't really know what is what in this regard.

This shows the relay boards, with their "protective" cardboard coverings. I measured 13VDC going into each, between pins 1&4 on the small connector on each (bottom left corner of each board in the picture).

Next is of the back of the machine, with marquees etc removed.

This is the space behind the marquee at the top of the back of the machine. (ie, the bit above the glass panel). You can see where a light fixture should be! I measured the voltage at the connector visible in the picture, and found 130 VAC between the outer two pins.

Next is the first light fixture just below the back glass 'window'. This uses a cylindrical starter, FS-2, as do all the other fixtures on this side of the machine.

Observations

On at least a couple of the tubes, there is a faint orange glow visible when you turn the ambient room light off. The tubes also get warm to the touch (but not hot) after a while.

Both relay boards click in the self-tests.

Each fixture that I tried has 130 VAC across it.

All tubes are 15W.

Some fixtures use the cylindrical FS-2 starters, some use what appears to be small transformers.

I'm now going to re-read the FAQ at here, hopefully more will sink in :)
